Институт создает и организует производство прогрессивных металлических, неметаллических, композиционных и функциональных материалов для судостроения, машиностроения, атомной энергетики, нефте- и газодобычи и переработки, строительства, медицины и т.п.; разрабатывает технологии, оборудование для сварки и нанесения защитных покрытий; осуществляет аттестацию и сертификацию материалов и производств.
Founded in 1939
The institutes activities are aimed at the development and production of advanced materials, non-metallic, composite and functional materials for shipbuilding, machine engineering, nuclear power, transport, oil-and-gas production and processing, civil engineering, medicine, etc. The institute develops procedures and equipment for welding and applying of protective coatings; carries out attestation and certification of materials and facilities.
