"The House of Academics" named after M. Gorky, is situated in the Palace of Great Prince Vladimir Alexandrovich, the son of Alexander II, the Tzar.
The palace was built from 1867 to 1872 and designed by A. Rezanov. This Palace, built in "historicism" style, occupied the special part in cultural life of Petersburg because of its unique interiors.
The furniture set in "second rococo" style, exhibiting in the "WORLD OF INTERORS - FIDEXPO'2000" exhibition, - was made in St. Petersburg in the second part of XIX century. It covered with light silk with the vegetable ornament. Restored in 1976.
"The House of Academic's" has its own concert, banquet and exhibition halls, organize the large cultural-exhibition programs.
