Центральный научно-исследовательский институт судовой электротехники и технологии специализируется на выполнении наукоемких работ с полным циклом создания новой техники в области электротехники, энергетики и электроники. Институт является ведущим разработчиком судовой и корабельной электротехники. В последнее время сфера интересов института существенно расширилась: общепромышленное и транспортное электрооборудование, в частности, тяговый электропривод, микропроцессорные системы управления объектами электроэнергетики, электростатическая безопасность, прокладка и монтаж кабельных трасс, токовводы и электрические соединители, приборы и датчики.
Институт обладает собственным многопрофильным опытным производством (механический, инструментальный и электромонтажный участки). На базе уникального отраслевого электротехнического стенда действует Центр сертификации.

Ship Electrical engineering & Technology Research Institute is specialized in the field of works requiring deep involvement of science. It provides a full cycle of creation producing brand new samples of technical equipment relating to ship electrical engineering, power production and electronics. The institute is a leading developer of electrical engineering equipment intended for vessels and ships. During the recent years, the scope of interests of the institute has been widened to a significant extent to include the general industrial and transport electrical equipment. That's comprised, in particular, traction electrical drives, micro-processor systems of power production units control, electrostatic safety, cable lines design and mounting, cable penetrators and electric connectors, instruments and sensors.
The institute has its own multi-profile experimental manufacturing facilities, which include mechanical, tool and electrical mounting divisions. The Certification Centre works on the basis of the unique testing bench.
