Boundaries
Vinnitsa region occupies 4.5% of the Ukranian territory. It is situated
in the central part of the right-bank (of the Dnieper) Ukraine and borders
with the seven Ukranial regions and with the republic of Moldova.
Industry
Vinnitsa region is industrial with the highly mechanized agriculture,
research and production and mineral resourses foundation.
More than 1100 deposits of 30 various minerals have been found on the
territory of the region.
Industrial potential of the region is constituted by such enterprises as
Ladyzhskaya GRES, production associations :Oktyabr'", "Infracom", "Mayak",
"Khristal", "Vinnitsa's Bearing Plant", "Khimprom", dozens of enterprises
of processing and light industry.
The region has 12.7% of the Ukranian industrial potential,
Agriculture
Along with the more than 700 collective agricultural enterprises, 100
state agricultural farms, 846 private farms and 333 part-time farms and
supplyer firms there are 4 research stations, Research Institute of Forage.
There are 39 sugar-refinary plants and 13 alcohol plants on the territory
of the region. A base for sunflower seeds processing is created. Vinnitsa region
takes the first place in the production of sugar corn and has the real
opportunities to become the main supplyer of this products in the CIS
countries and abroad.
Nature
The surface of Podolie is a rolling plane. There are 320 objects of the
natural reserve fund, 11 of which have the state importance.
The climate of the region is mild.
