The town is situated on the island between the Ob River and Yuganskaya Ob channel.
It borders Nefteyugansk district all round.
Economy
The town specializes in the extraction of mineral resources, oil and gas. 26 oil deposits are
discovered and being developed. Oil-and-Gas producing enterprises: "Pravdinskneft" Oil-and-Gas Production Department,
"Yuganskneftegaz" OJSC, "Evikhon" oil company.
There is the beginning of Ust-Balyk - Omsk oil pipeline and Ust-Balyk - Tobolsk product pipeline.
Timber and woodworking industry is also developed.
Plant of building structures, food industry enterprises: "Moloko (milk)" JSC,
bakery.
Vegetables, potatoes, berries are cultivated in the district. Cattle, pig, rabbit breeding, poultry farming, and etc.
