It is situated in the North of West Siberia, on the Nadym River, 563 km south-east of Salekhard, 1225 km
north of Tyumen.
Economy
The main part of Nadym's economy is formed by oil-and-gas producing and
gas transporting enterprises ("Nadymgazprom" ltd., oil-and-gas production department RITEK-Nadymneft,
"Tyumentransgaz" ltd.). Nadym is the beginning of the gas pipeline system the North
of the Tyumen Region - Ural - Volga Region - Center.
The biggest building enterprises are "Severgazstroy", "Nadymdorstroy", "Nadymstroygaz", "Severtruboprovodstroy",
"Nadymsky ZKPD" OJSC.
