It is situated beyond the Polar circle, in a range zone of everfrost rocks on the
rocky eastern shore of Kola bay of the Barents Sea (so called Murmansk coast), in
1967 km. to the north from Moscow.

The main Murmansk industries are: fishery and fish processing,
sea transport, shiprepairing, sea, railway and automotive transportations,
