It is situated on the Cental Russian Upland, on the banks of the Seim River and its
tributary Tuskar, 536 km south-west of Moscow.

Economy.
Main industries - machinebuilding and metalworking, chemical and petrochemica,
food and light industries, building industry and electric power industry. The
Kursk enterprises products are delivered in the different regions of Russia, CIS and non-CIS countries for the work in the
coal strip mines and agriculture, automotive and textile industries, aircraft industry and public health care.
The city enterprises support business relations with the partners from more than
fifty countries of the world. The products of a number of Kursk enterprises are
included into catalogue "One hundred best goods of Russia", and honored the highest awards
at the international and Russian competitions.

Kursk has planty of architectural monuments of the XIX century. The most

Kursk is important transport juncture. It is situated on the one of the oldest
trunk railways of Russia, Moscow - Kharkov, from west to east it is crossed
by the railway line Voronezh - Kiev. The existing network of roads provides direct
highway service to Moscow, the nearest regional centers of Russia and Ukranian Sumy,
all towns and settlements of the region.
The developed network of railways and roads allows unlimited freights
transportation in any directions and provides not only convenient passenger
services in the center and the south of Russia and Ukraine but also exit to
the Volga Region and Belarus.
The functioning airport "Vostochniy" gives opportunities of transport and time
choice for coming and going out of Kursk.
