Information about the city of Kislovodsk
Status: town of the regional subjection, Stavropol region.
It is situated at the northern foothills of the Big Caucasus, at the height
of 800-1200 meters above the sea level, in the valleys of Olkhovka and Berezovka
(tributaries of Podkumok River) rivers, in 234 km to the south-east from Stavropol.
Kislovodsk town is located on the Dzhinal mountain range slopes. It is a
balneotherapeutic health resort of all-Russian importance within the Caucausian
Mineral Water resort group.

Resort sector constitutes the main part of the Kislovodsk economy.
There are over 60 sanatoria and hotels located in the town. Their number is
constantly changing. The half of the population are involved in the service
sector for holiday makers, who come to Kislovodsk for rest and treatment.
