Information about the city of Kiselevsk

It is situated at the foothills of Salairsky mountain range, on the upperstream
of Aba river, in 240 km. to the south from Kemerovo.

Economy.
Kiselevsk ranks among the towns of Kuzbass, which have the precise specialization
of coal mining and benefication. Six mines were closed during the period of
coal industry reorganisation. There are only two operating mines now (mine
"Kiselevskaya" OJSC and mine № 12), three coal strip mines ("Kiselevsky" of the
company "SDS-coal", Vakhrushevsky Strip Coal Mine of the company "Kuzbassrazrezugol",
"Coal mining district "Coking" of "Industrial Metallurgical Holding"), two concentrating mills.
There are plans to renew the coal mining in some closed mines, in particular in
"Karagailinskaya" and "Taibinskaya" mines.
Some of the coal enterprises on Erunakovsko-Sokolovskoe minefield are opened
instead of the closed mines of Kiselevsk, but they are operating and pay taxes
on the territory of Prokopievsk district. There are two machinebuilding plants
still working in the town. They are the plant n.a. Chernykh (from February 2007 is under
the management of "Angeromash" OJSC) and the plant "Gormash" and the are
specialized on production of mining equipment. Besides there are also a plant "Znamya"
producing explosives for mining industry, Afonin Brick Plant, "Konditer (confectioner)"
factory, suasage factory "Reno", furniture factory "Kiselevskmebel", dairy plant,
Toyota cars selling center and "Toyota-Center" service station was opened in Kiselevsk
and was the first in Kemerovo region.
