Status: a town of regional subordination, the Sverdlovsk Region.
It is situated on the south-east slope of the Central Ural, at the confluence of
the Kamenka and Iset Rivers (Ob basin), in 100 km. to the south-east
from Ekaterinburg.

Economy.
Kamensk-Uralsky is one of the fast-growing cities in the Sverdlovsk Region.
Industrial production is presented by: fuel-energy and metallurgical complex,
mechanical engineering, building, light and food industries, transport and
communication.
The most developed industry is metallurgical production, particularly non-ferrous metallurgy
("Sinarsky Pipe Works" OJSC, "Kamensk Uralsky Plant OTSM" OJSC, "Kamensk Uralsky
Metallurgical Works" OJSC, Ural Aluminium Plant of "Siberian-Ural Aluminium
Company" OJSC).
The town gets building brick, walling materials, window and door blocks, pre-fabricated reinforced concrete
from the building materials enterprises.
Light industry is presented by the "Mayak" factory, "Elegant" clothing factory,
"Footwear factory" OJSC.
Food industry: "Khlebokombinat" OJSC, "MIKOM" CJSC (meat
processing plant), "Milk" OJSC, "KAMPI" CJSC (brewery).
Krasnogorsk Heat Power Plant.
Agriculture: cultivation of vegetables and potatoe, dairy stock
breeding.
