Information about the city of Dombay
Dombay belongs to the Karachayevo-Cherkess Autonomous Region of the Stavropol Territory. It is situated
at the foothill of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range on Dombay Meadow at the altitude of 1650 meters above sea level.

Dombay is not an administrative area and has no strict boundary.
Transport.
Rout: by plane or by train to Mineralnye Vody (MinVody), by train to Cherkessk or to Nevinnomyssk, than by bus to Dombay.
The way from MinVody Airport is 230 km long, from Stavropol Airport - 220 km, from Kislovodsk Railway Station - 180 km,
from Nevinnomyssk Railway Station - 170 km, from Chercessk Railway Station - 100 km.
Culture.
Dombay is situated on the territory of Teberdinsky State Wildlife Reserve. There are not only magnificent mountains of Teberda and Dombay
but also numerous waterfalls such as Chuchkhursy, Ptyshsky, Sofrudzhinsky, Alibeksky, Shupka, as well as
high mountain lakes - Lake Klukhorskoye which appeared at the altitude of 2690 meters as the result of glacier retreat; relict forests.
Dombay is the centre of mountaineering and tourism in the Cacasus. One can hardly find any sight comparable with
Dombay Meadow in terms of natural resoures. Everything which attracts number of tourists and climbers is located in this small area.
