the Novgorod Region.
It is situated within the limits of Mstinsk hollow, on the navigable Msta
River, 194 km east of Veliky Novgorod.

Firebrick integrated plant (production has been developed since the end of the 19th century), "Velgijsk Paper Plant" JSC
(wallpaper, paper, napkins), woodworking integrated plant.
Plants: of woodworking machine tools, "Polymermash", of brick, sand-lime
brick, "Dvigatel (engine)", electrical equipment, and etc. Enterprises of furniture,
light and food industries.
Wood is produced and processed in Borovichi district. Autumn sown cereal, flax,
potatoes, cabbages are cultivated; cattle breeding, pig breeding, poultry farming.
Deposits of fire resisting clays, sand and gravel materials, brown coal,
peat.

Borovichi Local Lore Museum, Museum-Estate of A.V. Suvorov in the Konchanskoye village.
Arch bridge across the Msta River (1905, the first arch bridge in Russia).
35 km of Borovichi, in the Konchanskoye-Suvorovskoye village there is
a Museum-Resort of the military commander A.V. Suvorov (lived in the estate
in exile in 1797-99).
