Information about the city of Almetyevsk
Status: the town of the republic subordination, administrative center
of Almetiev District in the Republic of Tatarstan
It is situated in the Kama Region, on the mountainsides of Bugulma-Belebey Upland,
on the left bank of the Zay River (Kama's tributary), 16 km north-west from the
Almetjevskaya railway station, and 279 km south-east from Kazan.

Economics:
Almetyevsk - is the largest center of oil industry in the Republic of Tatarstan.
The office of "Tatneft" JSC oil company is located here, and from which the town gets
its most budget receipts.
Romashkinskoye oil-and-gas field. Production of machines and equipment
for oil-and-gas production industry.
Plants: automotive and tractor maintenance plant, pipe producing plant, pump
producing plant, gas refining plant, "Neftemash", "Radiopribor", tyre repair plant, brick
factory, concrete products plant, mud powder plant and etc. Hosiery factory, plate spinning
combine. Food industry enterprises.
The main "Druzhba" pipeline starts in Almetyevsk and goes to the European countries,
oil pipelines to Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, Samara go through this town as well.
Wheat, rye, barley, oats, pea, vetch, corn, millet, vegetables are cultivated in
Almetyevsky district. Cattle, pigs, sheep, horses are bred. Poultry and cage fur farming
(polar fox, mink) are common.

Russky Aktash village; in the Verkhny Akhtash village (1880); Khristovo-Rozhdestvenskaya (1887) in the
