Tourism prospers:

• Tourism has been chosen as one the main priority-driven branches of economic development in Azerbaijan. Joining of Azerbaijan to the World Tourism Organization (WTO) in 2001, was a step on developing of international economic relations.
• State budget of Azerbaijan for 2002 has included a new article on tourism development, for the first time.
• More than 6 thousand historical-architectural monuments are settled down in Azerbaijan. Vast majority of them are on the routs of Great Silk Route.
• Azerbaijan is on the same latitude with Italy, Spain and Greece. Number of sunny days in Azerbaijan is 284. 9 climate zones from 11, present in Azerbaijan, from subtropical to high-mountainous meadows.
• There are 12 nature-reserves and nurseries, 17 reserves and game-preserves, more than 250 lakes and 1200 rivers in Azerbaijan.
• Azerbaijan has direct air relations with Germany, France, Russia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, UAE, Kazakhistan, Great Britain, China and other countries.
